The advantages of voice over IP technology for business infrastructure is saving money on long distance calls, when companies have to communicate with sister companies over seas or even in another area of the country it would be beneficial to the company because they could use the VoIP and not have to spend that money on the long distance calls that they are making. With the high technology of videoconferencing it would also benefit the company because they would be able to actually conduct meetings with other sister companies and actually be able to view that person on a screen while in the meeting. Another advantage is that VoIP can be connect anywhere there is a broadband connection, so employees can be connected to work even when they travel or when they are out of the office but still need to be contributing to the company. With the ever-increasing globalization a major advantage of VoIP is being able to stay in contact with other companies around the globe.
3 consumer VoIP technologies currently on the marketplace are: eHarmony, skype, and microsoft
The strengths and weaknesses of VoIP are: it allows for instant messenging, video conferencing, it replaces the long distance phone calls, it's cheaper than telephone, it is clear of who is the responsible calling party, there are concerns of regulations, there is also mixed traffic, it has echos, and there is some relaibility issues that are being resolved.
Out of the three technologies above the company that will last is skype, even with the increasing amount of providers this allows for free calls made over the internet. This company has become reliable among its users and trusted. It will also last because of its improvements with the internet technology which is not going anywhere. This service will also be improved as time goes on allowing for better communications.

Facebook.com
1) I do used a social networking site like Facebook.com because it is a link between my friends and myself. It enables me to keep in touch with friends from high school that have since moved to other locations in and out of the country. I also like to see the changes in people over the years and watch my niece grow up from back home.
2)The site could generate revenue by having people pay for electronic gifts sent to other users.
3) The pros of using a social networking site is the ability to easily keep in touch with friends, both through pictures and messaging. Also, getting a homework assignment from a friend, getting phone numbers, catching up from a missed class or other school activity. Cons of social networking sites are potential employers seeing your life outside of work, being in pictures that you did not put on the website, or people locating you that you did not want to be located by.
